Our Story
In 2018, after over two decades in the restaurant industry, Chef Justin “Ace” Wieczorek started booking and hosting events. Naming his new startup after his paternal grandparents, Chef Ace started Ruth & Iggy’s Catering Company. Spending his mornings at Eastern Market and other local farmer’s markets, Chef wanted to provide a customized experience using fresh and locally sourced ingredients. In the beginning it was only small private events for friends and family, but it wasn’t long before things got too big for just one person. So hiring some staff and dedicating time to the venture, Chef dove into the catering waters head first.
After evolving into a full time catering service we were forced to shut down due to the pandemic in March of 2020. Chef Ace decided to go back to work in the restaurant industry in the fall of that year, while keeping R & I's on his "back burner". Having an opportunity to work for, and under, some very talented and successful chefs, and after a successful season as a Sous Chef at a local golf and banquet center, he knew it was time to relaunch Ruth & Iggy’s. So now, in the fall of 2022, we are ready to take flight!
What we do.
Catering everything from backyard bbq’s and graduate open houses to anniversary celebrations and various showers, we're able to provide upscale food for any event. Our most sought after event is a personal, “date night” dinner. Choosing either a four course dinner or a 7-course tasting menu, we provide you an opportunity to celebrate a milestone in a relationship, take that next step, or just enjoy a relaxing night with your partner that is prepared and presented in your home by Chef Ace himself.
